It is my sad duty to inform you that a stalwart of Teide Lodge, W. Bro Gerd Rohlfs, has today, Wednesday 9th June 2021, passed to the Eternal Grand Lodge Above. We have no further information at this time but will keep Members informed by email.
Lodge Teide No 34, a Freemasons Lodge under the Grand Lodge of Spain, which meets at Santiago del Teide, has made a donation of €1000 to Helping Hands, Tenerife, to be used to ensure that Children with Cancer in Tenerife have a little joy brought into their lives during the festive season. Teide Lodge meets on the third Wednesday of the month, October to April inclusive and raises money for charity over the year by holding raffles at the dinners following their Meetings, during social events such as their Christmas Dinner and Ladies Festival and from donations. If you are interested in joining freemasonry, contact the Secretary on Tel 682 742 552, by email at secretary34@freemasons-tenerife.com or via their website: http://www.freemasons-tenerife.com/

What a Great Night! Due to our new heating system, the Lodge Room and Restaurant were warm and cosy, the ceremony of Passing Bro. Chris Makaronas was carried out in an excellent manner, without a single mistake being made? The Ladies, joined us after the Meeting and were all dressed in their finest, and dazzled the Members and Guests alike. Thanks to Lodge Training provided to our Chef, Leeroy, the Turkey was served with English style roast potatoes and gravy, as well as vegetables. Very tasty it was too! Eduardo, our resident Head Waiter controlled his girls in an admirable fashion, ensuring that glasses were kept topped up, which was reflected by the merry condition of those at dinner. Stilton Cheese and biscuits was served, accompanied by a solo performance from Bro. Alex, who enthralled us with his mix of Stille Nacht & Silent Night, and without music. Following dessert, coffee and mince pies, our Choir Master, Bro. Drew, conducted the carol singing with assistance from Bro. Mark, who ensured that our state-of-the-art sound system played the correct music. I must say that the sound of the music from the system was superb and the system well worth the Lodge Funds expended on it. Bro. Mark also ran our Grand Raffle, there were so many prizes that some guests won four or five times.
A Fantastic Night, well done to everyone!

WHAT IS FREEMASONRY?
Freemasonry means different things to each of those who join. For some, it’s about making new friends and acquaintances. For others it’s about being able to help deserving causes – making a contribution to family and society. But for most, it is an enjoyable hobby. Most English speaking Lodges here on Tenerife meet during the winter months. After each meeting we have a formal dinner or 'Festive Board' and in some Lodges, whilst the men 'are doing their thing', the Ladies meet at a Restaurant for an informal meal and chat. There are also a number of Formal or semi-formal functions during the year, to which the Ladies and non-masonic friends are invited. Masonry is a great way of meeting people in your community, making new friends and enjoying a fulfilling social life.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. It teaches self-knowledge through participation in a progression of ceremonies. Members are expected to be of high moral standing and are encouraged to speak openly about Freemasonry.
Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught its principles (moral lessons and self-knowledge) by a series of ritual dramas – a progression of allegorical two-part plays which are learnt by heart and performed within each Lodge – which follow ancient forms, and use stonemasons’ customs and tools as allegorical guides.
Freemasonry instils in its members a moral and ethical approach to life: its values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Members are urged to regard the interests of the family as paramount but, importantly, Freemasonry also teaches concern for people, care for the less fortunate and help for those in need.
